Dominican Republic Bavaro Beach All Inclusive Holiday – Part 2
Dominican Republic Bavaro Beach All Inclusive Holiday – Part 2 |
When we had left England the rains were continuing and we were still in the aftermath of the recent floods, so with the 36 degrees of heat which greeted us in the Dominican Republic we were keen to test the pool that evening.
The water was deliciously warm, and the children thoroughly enjoyed their first swim in the huge pool which included islands and swim-up bar.
When we checked out the beach we were shocked at the size of the waves (we were later to discover they were not always this big), and we were pleased we had bought the Konfidence Swim Jackets for all three of our children. The huge waves were great for the adults in our party, and we knew we would be back soon.
27th July – We had stayed up as late as we could the previous evening, but by 8:30pm we were all exhausted (this was obviously 1:30am UK time). We had a rather fitful night’s sleep, so having dozed until about 6:00am we were more than ready for breakfast when the buffet opened.
The buffet breakfast was excellent. A dozen or so different rolls and pastries, cereals, fruit juices or smoothies, 3 types of pancakes or crepes (to the delight of my older son), cold and hot meats, eggs made to order and, of course, a great selection of fruit. Mango always goes down well with our children, and we really felt spoilt for choice.
It was still the first full day at the resout, and we had already decided we had made a good decision in choosing Barcelo Premium at Bavaro Beach for our All Inclusive Dominican Republic Package Holiday!
We spent the morning on the beach, and we could relax a lot more now that our kids (aged 7, 9 and 12) all had their Konfidence Swim Jackets on. Even our 12-year old, now a reasonable swimmer and very indignant that we had bought him one too, volunteered to wear his when he saw the fun and freedom his siblings had in the waves with theirs.
28th July – Having bought floating beds, or lilos, in the hotel shop the previous day and christened them, our children couldn’t wait to get them into the pool again. And what really surprised us, is that no-one at the hotel seemed to mind! I don’t know whether for prices between £6 and £10 we were ripped off, but for the fun our kids had in the pool with them throughout our holiday this was definitely money well spent!
In Part 3 later this week I’ll let you know how we got on with the stall sellers at the hotel, and what we thought of the water sports available.
