I have just completed a stay at the Days Inn Hotel at the Welcome Break Services on the M40 Northbound, and bearing in mind I paid just £29.95 through Booking.com I was really impressed.
This isn’t a time-limited ‘special offer hotel room‘, it is the standard price which you pay when you book this Days Inn hotel through Booking.com.
The Welcome Break Days Inn on the M40 Northbound has just been refurbished, scoring a customer rating of 8/10, and I would now rate it of a similar standard to a Travelodge. This means you now have two choices for cut-price accommodation and clean and functional hotels.
Although Travelodge.co.uk can offer cheaper rooms (for example, the £19 Travelodge Summer Sale Rooms currently on offer), if you need to spend closer to £30 then Days Inn are also worth considering. Although the Travelodge Hotel Rooms at this price cannot be cancelled, when you book a Days Inn Room through Booking.com you can cancel without charge provided you give at least 1 days notice.
Days Inn Hotels also have the minor additional touches of biscuits on your tea tray and shower creme/shampoo and tissues in the bathroom, and a soft chair at the desk, but overall I would put Days Inn and Travelodge on a par with eachother.
Although Days Inn does not have the same coverage as Travelodge, if you are travelling on the motorway network and need an overnight stop then I do recommend them as they offer such great value. However, make sure you book through Booking.com to get the best price, as the rack rate advertised outside the hotel itself was £55.
