The Holiday Inn Stratford Upon Avon certainly struck me as a more luxurious choice than the Travelodges I usually stay at. The Travelodges have their place, and I recommend them when you just need a clean and comfortable room for the night and have the option of the amazing price of a Travelodge Saver Room.
However, for my visit to the marvellous town of Stratford Upon Avon I was after a little more luxury, hence my choosing the Holiday Inn. Looking ahead to August, Flexible Room Rates start at £70 per room, and there are Dinner, Bed and Breakfast packages for two available at a room price of just £94 if you choose the advance purchase non-refundable option.
There are plenty of little touches to make sure you know you are in a 4 star hotel.
I am always pleased to see biscuits on the tea tray. And going into the bathroom I was reassured to see there are flannels there too. It’s a small thing, I know, but I do like to have a flannel supplied in the bathroom. Of course, there is also the usual selection of toiletries, and the chrome fittings add a touch of class.
Apart from the terrestrial channels, there is also Sky One and Sky Sports on offer, although I don’t recommend anyone use the telephone where the starting prices are 55p per minute for a local call!
The Holiday Inn Stratford also boasts an indoor pool, sauna and whirlpool, if you want some relaxation before heading for the theatre.
The Holiday Inn is close to centre of Stratford Upon Avon, which means it is ideally located for a weekend or mid-week theatre break.
