The Best Hotel Websites - Best Rooms, Greatest Choice, Lowest Rates! |
If you start your search for the Best Hotel Deals using our recommended hotel-booking websites below then you really can’t go wrong. They represent our pick of the thousands of such sites on the internet, shortlisted as they consistently offer the cheapest price for a given rating of hotel, but also offer excellent choice and market leading websites.
Our Recommended Hotel Booking Websites are
LateRooms.com
Hotels.com
OctopusTravel.com
Booking.com
Travelodge.co.uk
If you love spending hours scouring the internet yourself then you may possibly find a marginally better deal, but we also believe that in the majority of cases you will fail to do so.
In our view, if you just check the sites listed the odds are you’ll find the best deal available.
LateRooms.com has an excellent range of UK hotels, as well as hotels around the world. In our opinion, one of the easiest to use and helpful hotel-booking search engines in the business. They are the ‘hotel industry late availability database‘, and as a result have many bargains bookable at short notice (just a week or two ahead). We have also found their prices often lead the market when booking further ahead too. However, their market leading presentation of hotels matching your search criteria also allows you to see easily whether booking a day earlier or later will actually allow you to save even more money on their terrific rates. From 4 star and 5 star luxury hotels to unique guest houses, and from city apartments to rural bed and breakfasts, their selection is very impressive. Part of the TUI Group.
Hotels.com is another favourite of ours. They have probably the widest selection of accommodation on the internet, with rooms at over 80,000 establishments worldwide. Offering enormous choice in the UK and abroad, this is another site with an excellent presentation of its available hotels with thumbprint photos, price per night, and first line of its description all shown on the returned list. Part of Expedia.
OctopusTravel.com we have added to our list only recently, having found its rates excellent for France and the USA (although they have a limited selection for the UK). They have a good selection with 21,000 hotels across the world, and once you have realised you need to click on ’search for a new city’ if your city is not shown then the rest of the site is intuitive and worth the effort. When we used it ourselves recently for France we were able to get a rate at a Best Western hotel with breakfast included, while on other sites breakfast was extra. The list of available hotels returned again gives a good summary which saves clicking on each hotel in turn to find the best one for you.
Booking.com is another new addition to our list of favourites. We use them regularly ourselves as they have a great range of hotels in the UK and across Europe, and worldwide. With over 40,000 establishments in over 10,000 destinations they usually have plenty of choice for anywhere you want to go. We love their website too, as it is very easy to use, provides simple ways of filtering matching hotels based on the facilities they offer - for example, by indoor swimming pools, pets allowed, family rooms, airport shuttle, Wi-Fi, etc… and, of course, have some great prices to tempt you.
Travelodge.co.uk is another company we regular feature on this blog, although they are obviously a company which only sells their own Travel Lodges. If you are looking for standard 3* accommodation at a great price then it is hard to fault them as they have £29 rooms available throughout the year at virtually all their Travelodges. In addition, when they are running their £9 or £19 room promotions (which to be honest, is nearly all of the time nowadays!) families can really snap up a bargain (2 kids under 15 eat breakfast free per paying adult at those with a Bar Cafe too). These low room rates are non-cancellable and non-refundable, so only useful if you know you won’t have to change your plans, and do usually have to be booked 18 days in advance (£19 rooms). If you have to book with less than 7 days notice or need more flexibility, then we do recommend you check the prices of other hotels too using the hotel-booking sites listed above.
