Choosing Clothes For Your Summer Holiday - A Few Tips
Choosing Clothes For Your Summer Holiday - A Few Tips
It`s the time of year we all look forward to the most -but our summer holidays can have their stresses too; anyone familiar with those last minute sprints around the shops before you travel will know how frustrating the summer wardrobe can be. When it comes to deciding what to wear, there are number of things you should consider?
Dresses
Choosing dresses for your holidays can be a complicated affair - cool and lightweight dresses for the daytime, and perhaps something a little more sparkly for the evening. Try to think in terms of layers, selecting those colours and styles that flatter independently but can also be complemented by a shawl or cardigan to protect you from the mid-day sun, and keep the midnight chill at bay. Remember to alternate between different necks (halter neck, bateau, Sabrina etc) to avoid those unsightly tan lines.
T.Shirts
If you`re likely to find yourself in hotter climates over the summer, then cooler materials such as cotton are a good choice for casual t-shirts. Both men and women are likely to find that these items of clothing form a staple for their summer wardrobes as they make easy day casual wear, but can also be matched with a smart jacket and trousers for the gents, or teamed with a nice pair of jeans and some funky heels for the ladies.
Capri Pants
Capri pants make an excellent choice for holiday clothing as they combine comfort with style. In most cases it will be the choice of shoe that determines how `dressy` you want to look - they look great with heels for evening wear, but are also commonly worn with ballet flats for the more casual appearance. Though predominantly worn by women, Capri pants have also been popular with men too - combat or khaki Capri pants are great for the beach.
Shorts
In general, shorts are pretty easy to get right so long as you wear designs that flatter your specific body type. Well fitting shorts should be able to stay on your natural waist without a belt, with just enough room to manoeuvre. Be wary of going out in public with those 90`s Bermuda shorts but there`s no point in telling you not to pack them as a holiday probably wouldn`t seem like a holiday without at least one pair. Women need to be a little more wary with shorts - the same good fit rules apply and remember that only the very young and cellulite free can truly get away with hot pants.
Packing the Suitcase
There is a certain art to packing a suitcase and most of us tend to over-pack with the knowledge that at least we`ll have a choice. Remember to leave some room in the suitcase for those other essential items such as belts, foot ware, hats, sunglasses and bucket loads of sun cream. Most people should be able to get away with three pairs of shoe - a comfortable trainer, a smart pair of evening shoe and the casual all-occasion flip flips.
