Technically, you are not supposed to take the safety cards out of the seats and keep them as souvenirs... However, there are some that will do so either to make a couple quick bucks selling them on eBay to collectors, or for their own collections. Keeping the cards with the seats are part of most airlines' safety guidelines and are considered property of the airline, like the pillows and blankets, but some are still thrown away by the contracted cleaning crews if they are on the floor under the seats and show wear and tear... most airports that the airline has an office at will have boxes of spare cards specifically because these reasons, but these are still not for the passenger to keep as a souvenir. Many cards that were taken during the day are not restocked into each seat every time the plane parks until overnight... same goes for the airline's in-flight magazine and Sky Mall catalogs, but those are intended for the passenger to take home.

Haha, the safety cards are not to keep. Only the Sky-Mall magazine can be kept.

I am sure that legally, the aircraft MUST have one for each seat. Therefore, if you take one, they'll have to replace it.

It is a federal offence (in USA) to remove the cards lol. Then they can just see who was in the seat last....and they will kill you.

If you actually look; most cards will say "please keep this in the back of the seat. " on Ryanair, I think the safety card is printed into the tray table!!

You should not take the airline safety cards. The in-flight magazine, SkyMall magazine and empty vomit bags you can take.
