It's a scam UK companies have to licenced by the Home Office to offer jobs to on EU nationals. The majority of these jobs are very highly skilled and you need a minimum of degree level education to be considered. This job could be filled by an EU national so the employer would be unable to get a visa for you. You would never be employed without being interviewed first. If a company is offering to sponsor you, they will make the application for your visa. You should not have to do anything other than attend a Visa Application Centre for your fingerprints and photograph to be taken. It should cost you nothing as the UK sponsor always pays the visa fees and deals direct with the UK immigration service. There are a lot of fake job scams around but they all have certain things in common, here are a few. Telephone nos beginning with + 4470 are used in scams. They give the impression you are dealing with a UK company, you are not. These numbers are redirectable anywhere in the world. Free email addresses. No reputable or legitimate UK company would use hotmail, yahoo, gmail, ymail, live.com or any other free email address. Any mention of putting you in touch with an agency or lawyer to process work documentation. It is always handled direct between the UK company and UK immigration, never by an agency or a lawyer. Any contract offer exceeding two years. Your visa will only be issued for two years, therefore a contract cannot be offered for longer than that. Any mention of sending any money for any reason by Western Union. No UK company would ask you to send money this way as they all have bank accounts. WU payments are irretrievable and untraceable. |
