Question: Help ! how much money should i take for a 2 week holiday in zante ?
(Posted by: princess on 2007-05-26 08:27:07)
I am going to Zante with my partner on Friday and neither of us have ever been anywhere Greek before, how much money should we take for a 2 week holiday ?. We are going self catering but will be eating out every night, neither of us really drinks and we want to do a couple of trips whilst we are there and probably will hire a car for the day. Thank you in advance for your answers xxx. |

Hi Ive just come back from greece and we went half board and took 420 euros for 1 week and never ran out of money We had such a great time that were already planning on going back. Next time we wont go half board meals are so cheap over there and food tastes fantastic. When you buy things in the shop food/ drink wise look at the lables if you recognise a brand chances are there imported therefore cost you more. if you look at the lables pictures it'll give you an idea whats in the packet and again very cheap. I have an allergie to egg and i found out the word in greek and every where i went to eat of buy food i said no and showed them the word they are so helpful and would go through packets for me just to make sure. We wanted to go on many trips my advise is look on notice boards and ask reception or rep to call the number to see if its cosher we went to st georges bay mailia and sissi via a boat swam had wine and food all for 20 euros each the same trip through our rep was 48 euros so best to explore see what deals you get. If you get the oppertunity to go on a greek night go for it we paid 33 euros through our rep which included as much wine as you can drink as much food as you can eat and the entertainment was so fantastic they get the audenice up and dancing The people are so relaxed you get served in a bar by a waiter with a fag in his mouth who'll later come over and join you for a shot of raki on him just to chat see if you enjoying yourselves theyre so chilled its hard to believe they work 10hrs 7days a week 6mnts a year you will really have a gret time if you have any more questions drop me an email it was that good im thinking of workng over there next summer im the meantime try out this website loads of stuff on there britsincrete.co.uk |

Food in Zante is much the same cost wise as it is in the UK so whatever it would cost you to eat out everyday here should cover it.......as for hiring a car or bike...make sure you have correct insurance cover if you hire it whilst there. Better to hire one from here before going...ie from a reputable company with full insurance cover. Take the boat trip around the Island...takes the best part of a day but what a trip it is....recommended. Best wishes, Mike. |

Same amount as you would take anywhere else. They Have the Euro now so its not as cheap as it used to be. There isn't much to do in Zante but drink and discos and the beach through the day and yet more drink so I would try and do some more trips. Go down the street and see what the local prices are for the same trips you would get from your rep. They are usually much cheaper down the street from the locals. Souvenirs are the same rubbish you get anywhere in the Med. Pottery, sponges and the usual things that have nothing to do with Greece. If you go on the turtle trips dont back on seeing any. Sorry to sound all gloom. |

I'd say about £700 should be more than enough. Greece is slightly more expensive than Spain. But if you dont really drink you should be ok with £700. |

I think that £2.000 would be ok considering it's two weeks. |
